Core

Core
Love, Papa.

Encrusted with a rugged shell
Harbouring a precious cargo.
Hidden deep within
Is the core of who you are.
Like the mountain hides its gold
And the ocean hides it treasure
So to do we protect that which is really us.
But the sparkle hints at the hidden gem
And the truth is revealed in the words you speak.
Of something buried deep within.
A core of pureness ever present.
That links us at once to one and all.
For you are but a mask of the truth that is
A brilliant facade of the beauty within.
Barely hiding the core of the one that is shared.
Seldom revealed but never denied.
Love, Papa.
